Default AC in b16a swap?

Do you have to take out the AC when doing a B16a swap into a crx si? or you can do the straight swap and still have AC? Sorry for the noob question this is my first swap. Thanks!

hasport.com has a mount that will allow you to use your old AC

Would it be better just to get a B series AC compressor that will fit then paying $180 for that bracket? or are there any other options then not having AC. Thanks.

I dont think the JDM A/C will work. but im not real sure.

Just get the bracket and use your USDM A/C on your JDM motor.

I dont think there are any b series brackets that you can use, i think i heard of one bracket that lines up on 2 of the 3 bolts but im not sure, the best and easiest thing to do is get the custom bracket. If you search im sure there are a lot of topics about this post.

Ok, its starting to look like the HASport bracket is the ONLY option to having AC in a B16a CRX. I was thinking more like getting a B-Series AC Compressor and using that in place of the D-Series AC Compressor. B-Series such as the DEL SOL DOHC VTEC one. I'm not sure if its the same as the JDM B16a brackets though. Oh well thanks for your replies. If anyone has anymore comments about this your welcomed.

supposedly you don't have to remove the a/c to do a swap. but in an ED it's so tight you might need the room.

your options:
- place racing bracket
- hasport bracket
- hcp bracket
- mickey mouse a b-series bracket to work, but who knows how long that might last. only like 2 of the 4 bolts will line up, i think.

you cant use the SiR bracket cause the d-series compressors and b-series compressors are different. sure you can bolt the SiR bracket and compressor to your b16, but then you can't use any of the oem lines.

*keep in mind, if you're using a chipped ecu you may have a very low idle when the A/C is on. hth.

Uhm, I can't understand what that last guy was trying to say, so here's the low-down on the Place racing bracket... they have two different styles, they will let you use the A/C compressor and lines from your old engine on your b16. no changes necessary, but you do need to shell out $180 for it and make sure you know which a/c compressor you have. Works great for me, very solid. I highly recommend it.

I have the hasport, nice billet peice and my compressor bolted right up using stock lines. Very good quality and no problems. I will be getting rid of it now that my f-max kit is coming.
