I have a 93 integra ls and am goinng to be swapping in a 96 gsr motor shortly. The shop that is probably going to do the swap said i need to use the ls tranny because it is cable but isnt that giong to slow me down some or will it be beneficial?
I really need to kno because im not going to do it and then have to rip it out again to change the tranny. Please help!
THANX IN ADVANCE!

i believe you can use a GSR cable tranny, or possibly a cable b16a tranny

yes an LS tranny will suck

GSR cable trannies (the ones mated to the B17) are hard to come by. Cable B16's are common, but can be crap shoots. Do whatever u can to avoid the LS tranny.

get a ys1 cable tranny. they are hard to come by but if you are patient you can get one. ls tranny= regardless of what many idiots on here say. (about ls tranny and turbo)

i had to use an ls tranny for a few months cause i blew up my itr tranny. that thing is garbage. clumsy shifting and crappy ratios. i lost about 2 full seconds of my 1320 time. the only thing its good for is high mph cruising and good gas mileage. thank god i came across a ctr tranny at a decent price.

so what im saying is avoid the ls at all costs, and try to find a good b16 cable tranny. trust me, it will be worth the extra $$ to get a non ls transmission.

im done with my little "rant".

Use the LS tranny only if you're going turbo...

put the GSR gears (if you have the GSR tranny also) into the LS case.

ls tranny is not beneficial regardless of forced induction or not when it comes to the b18c1. the whole stay longer in boost theory is incorrect, and has already been dispelled here many times.

So you're saying that shorter gears is better for turbo?
