I don't think you can really say a certain mileage. I would be cautious about turboing a 140k mile engine but overall, do a compression test and see what shape the motor is in.

I've got 95k and I'm going to slap my turbo on in a couple months.

I don't think mileage is really the factor...its more of the conditon of the engine...If you have a lot of stop and go city miles, 100,000 might be a good time to rebuild...if its all highway miles and the engine is realtively new (2-3 years old maybe) and in good condition, even 100,000 might be okay.

mileage should not matter because youre going to rip apart the block and replace everything right

im planning on taking the block apart and replacing the internals. i guess if i stay on the low psi's i should be ok but my vx turbo was so addicting i almost went 7 psi on stock internals.

which is exactly why you build the block, im sure a well maintained LS block could handle 8lbs daily for a long time but come on you all know yourselves you WILL turn up the boost and that is when problems come up

Back in the day I boosted 10psi on my stock d16z6 that had 180k on it with stock original clutch. I boosted on it for at least 5k miles and then upgraded to a b series. I am currently boostin 9.7psi on my ls that has over 105k and it pulls hard.

I added my turbo on my B18B at 145k miles. I did a compression test before installing it, and each cylinder was around 170-175.

But, I'm currently rebuilding my block right now, cause I won't take any chances.
