Now this doesn't mean you should automatically hate Rota wheels and think their quality sucks. This just one freak occurence, but you should still probably inspect your wheels. That thread above discusses ways to inspect the wheels. I am posting this in other forums that might have many users running Rota wheels.

 

If I remember correctly, a while ago (at least 1 year) someone posted here about how his Rota C8 (Bronze one) sheared off at the hub too. I hope someone still have the picture.

 

that wasn't a rota C8.. it was an ADR spyder

 

yeah, and it also wasn't at the hub, the spokes broke away from the outer rim.

Great information and all...But honestly I think 80-90% of Rota owners don't race on them.

 

I don't know, I know a few people who autocross with them. I don't know what to say about it except it was probably 1 in a 1,000 occurence.

 

rota paid for all damages and gave him four new rotas of his choice. they also paid for his lost track time and paid for mounting and balancing of the tires.
thats good customer service. i guess he bought the wheels used too.

 

it was actually more like a 2 in 7,000 occurence or something like that.

 

I'll give my rota's a quick inspection this weekend for sho.... LOL

 

hm.. somehow i'd think they'd refund him or at least pay for the damages sustained from dragging across the ground without a wheel..

four wheels & track fees that probably cost less than paying for the actual damages..
