coilover question

Default coilover question

i have an 88 crxsi and i have kybgr2 struts and apc65100 coilover sleeves and i want to know why every time i hit a bump my front struts and coilovers feel like they are smacking the hood of my car and i need t know if i need to adjust them up or do something else..... yes i know apc sucks thanks for your help

If they're coilovers, raise them up all the way and see if the problem goes away.

You have it lowered to low. The Kyb Gr-2 shocks are good, but not that good. They are for about a 1-1.5" drop. After that the coilovers are going to overpower the shocks.
Do you have bumpstops? Did you cut the bumpstops halfway?

u said it yourself, u have apc---get them the **** out quickly---I am running sprint 3.5 inch springs on illuminas and my car makes no noises or sloppy bounces---I also left in the full bumpstop plus 1 upper strut bushing underneath that to absorb harshness---it works----there are tricks to tuning a slammed car but it will never work with apc's

APC just make the spring and C/O, right? That won't effect the damper's ability to control the spring so it's still a damper issue. In this case, it just sounds too low and something (either the damper or the bumpstop) is bottoming out. Raise them up, drive it, and if the problem goes away you can decide what to do next.
