IF IT'S 1775 after taxes and installed then yes I'd get it =P you can find most people selling them for 1100-1400 for a ITR tranny..good luck and at times a new tranny is better than a used one

Spoon is Sold out and no plans for more. I was Just there Yesterday.... I am looking for one myself.
the spoon tranny is just a stock 98+ jdm itr. they have all been discontinued now, go to passwordjdm.com i think they have 98+ jdm itr trannys for $1100... much better gearing than a usdm.

used is koo and all, but getting a brand new tranny is good to the mind. You know your getting something that has no grinds and you can resale for more because it was bought brand new. On the other hand, 98++ has bomb final drive.

i was told that the type r trannie and gsr trannie (usdm models)
have the same gearing from 1 - 4 ...
the only difference was the lsd and final drive

is this true ... i have a 2001 gsr trans on my b16 ... and was just wondering about the differences in gearing

You heard WRONG.

The GS-R and ITR have different gearing from 2nd gear on. The GS-R tranny has longer gears because the GS-R has a more broad powerband than the B16A and B18C5, and the VTEC in the GS-R kicks in at 4500rpm so it never drops out of VTEC if shifting at redline.

GS-R trannies are not what you want if you have a near-stock motor or all-motor B-Series.

The ITR tranny will be better for accleration due to closer gearing and of course the cornering will be better with the LSD.

Used trannies are a total crapshoot. You never know what condition they will be in. I rebuilt my ITR tranny at only 50K because the FD broke and third gear was grinding, so "low miles" don't mean ****.

Try R&D Motorsports or IPS Racing.com. Both are reputable sources, and IPS told me last that they might be able to round up one of the last Spoon ITR trannies.

Ask about them in the ITR forum.

O.E ITR trannies from Acura are on backorder with a waiting list. Call and see for yourselves if you want to - that's what I recommend anyways.

Try to buy new if possible, or buy used and have a reputable mechanic open up the tranny and inspect the synchros (esp. 3rd!) and the bearings.

Yes, the USDM ITR tranny are in backorder agian from Acura. However, I have (2) in stock right now.

I sell them at wholesales price which is $1848.11 plus shipping or pick-up.
Major credits will be accepted.

However, you can pick a used tranny from a good source(less than new), but the downfalls is, you don't know the what type of condition it is once install and driven.

So would it be cheaper to buy a used then rebuild it or buy a brand new one and your done.

If you have any question called me at 1-800-741-8557 (Monday thru Friday).

Great info on the tranny's and also good to know I can purchase a new one sometime in the near future to replace my GSR tranny, which works perfectly, but I will eventually replace it.
