alright, i have a 97 civic dx coupe..and in a snowstorm a month ago i wrecked the front end...3k bucks worth of damage later, i have my car fixed....but now that ive been driving for a week ive noticed some problems. The car is not tracking perfectly straight, but more importantly, i can feel some "play" or looseness in the steering of the car, almost like the front wheels or back are doing their own thing moving a little bit back and forth. I have to wait some time before the shop can get it in to fix, so i want to figure out what is wrong, because if its a balljoint or somthing i can fix myself...waht do you guys think it could be??? any tips or ways to troubleshoot this problem.. could it be the rear, because their is a creak sound when i push on the rear passenger side of the car...maybe a bushing is bad? idk....any tips or insight appreciated greatly, because then i can get the car on my buddies lift and look for the problem.... .....thanx.

Does it just drift to one side when holding the wheel strait or sway?

 

it seems to go left or right, there is alot of "play" in the steering, balljoint maybe, what could this be??
how do i troubleshoot it whn i jack it up?

did the shop do an alignment?

 

check the alignment. the steering wheel being too loose, could be the tie rods done for, or u need bushings. could be alot of things. what exactly does it do. can you explain it more? did the shop replace everything with new parts? and line up the frame?

 

the was never bent, a full alinement was done too, the steering wheel feels slightly looser(more play) than it should have, but im not sure, it has a very slight wobble feeling as i go faster , and it seems to react slow to turning, the car almost pulls itself a little left or right, when i am driving, very slight tho.....how can i look for the prob, should i lift it and move wheels, and look at bushings and tie rods.....thanks for help.
