what about 215/45/17???
225/40/17 are taller overall than what Sam listed 215/40/17. (sams tire is properly plus sized, so it is almost identical in height as stock)
the x/40/y means 40% of x..so 40%of 225 is taller than 40%of 215.
running 225 vs 215 would increase your overall diameter, therefore gearing your car higher and reducing acceleration. The only advantage would be 225 is a wider tire, which may provide better traction.
unless you are putting down serious power, I wouldn't recommend 225's it will slow your car down noticeably. w/ 225's you would also be more likely to run into rubbing issues.
