DIY fuel injector cleaning??
have about 120K on em, thought it would be time to clean them out. I know you can send them to someone to do it or have Honda do it, but isnt it just ultrasonic cleaning with a mix of alcohol and water?? Because I have a small ultrasonic cleaner (use it for art stuff)
Anyone have some tips/insight?
Also, when honda says that they can "clean fuel injection and induction system" are they talking about more than just the injectors?
thanks!

I don't believe honda actually removes them. I believe they just run a bottle of 44D or 44F (or whatever that powerful agent was) to "clean them" in place.
There are reputable places like "RF" that will clean your injectors and actually give you a print-out of each individual flow, however, your car will be down for a couple days at least (ship them out). Beyond cleaning the injectors with a bottle of that 44D/F (about ~$15 i think) or using some STP fuel injector cleaner from Target, those 59.95 deals at Honda are definately not a deal.
Edit: I'm not sure of the composition of that ultrasonice fluid BUT i'm sure it's highly water based. Of course, ultra sounds technically clean with "sound"....

any powerful gas based detergent will work and beleive it or not having injectors cleaned and honda is an OK deal as they clean the intake as well and add some stuff to the fuel tank.
i would only use BG Fuel Injection System Cleaner. you need to the special tool taht taps into the intake manifold, and it slowly injects the fluid into your system. i think you can buy it from the honda dealership, or go online and buy it.
