Default carsound question

sup guys,

I recently installed a 94006 carsound on my GSR. Does anybody know if it's better to use the spring loaded factory bolts or the bolts that are provided with
the carsound (no springs)? I'm using the bolts that came with the cat. I notice that it vibrates badly only when I go into reverse up a incline (for example if I park the car and backup into the space) after I installed the carsound. I double checked to make sure the heat shield on the car cleared. Can this be the usual heat shield problem with the carsound or is the cat get shakin to death? I want to make sure that I don't shake the honeycomb lose. Car runs great so I'm sure the honeycomb is still intact (only have about 2k on it) Sorry this is probably in the wrong forum but seems to be more insight about carsound in here.

Put the stock springs on the bolts that you got with the carsound.

Remove the heatsheilds in that area.

Chris N,

If I remember correctly, the spring were to long to fit with the bolts that came with the carsound. Maybe I need to compress them more when I bolt them on. I'll double check it again. Thanks man!

The bolts that came with my carsound (2.5" cat, if that makes any difference) were about 3-3.5" long. They also were threaded halfway, and they (springs) were very compressed when I finished tightening, like they were with the stock cat. Sounds like you might need longer bolts.

That's how I remembered it too, the bolt not being long enough and wasn't able to compress the spring enough to get the bolt through the flange. I probably do need a longer bolt. thanks again!!
