Free way to protect car from thievs
What is the best way to protect my car from thievs thats free? I already have a good alarm and "the club" I know that there are easy ways around this becuase I have seen the tools and "how-to's"
I know about the fuel cut-off switch... are there any more that are similar to this? Like removing a fuse or wire or something. So the car will not turn over.
Any info would help...

I really don't know if there is any foolproof way to make a car theft proof.
With the dramatic advancements in recovery units ( ie tow trucks) the car can be hooked and outta there in under 60 secs. Not to put a damper on it but thats reality.
The purpose of a security system is to deter...thats it. You want to make the car as unapealing to the prospective inexperienced thief as possible.....layers of security ( a system and the club like you have) are great starting points. It wont stop a pro..but it may force the sleaze to move on for easier pickings.
I have said this before.....$300.00 can get you an entry level security system with single immobilzer, all entry points protected and depending on car, keyless entry....and this is an INSTALLED price...not just the product alone.
Yes this is a lot of money for many of us,but many would rather get a go fast part or a little * bling, bling* than protect our pride and joys. If many of us would do this first....there would not be as many APB out for ours cars as there are now.
I recently had a convo with a cop...the iorny is that the low level crooks are carring fuses and manuals, basic diagnostic tools with them....just a thought.
A Very scary one at that.

I used to spend a ton of money on the security system. I have since done things differently. Now I will spend maybe $300 with me installing it. No fancy features. I never used them anyway. Tracking device, and I buy things that are the same value as the stock setup. If it gets stolen insurance will pay stock value. My stock deck is around $2k so this is what I spent on a aftermarket one. Rims are around $4k so this is what I will spend.
Honestly the best deterrent is a car cover.
Friend at work had the same thing done to his GSR. The insurance company that he was trying to defraud the insurance company. He holds a masters degree in EE. I don't think he needs the money.

A free theft deterrant is to pull out your ecu, when you park you car. You could also change the path of your hood cable, so thieves cant pop your hood.
I run a kill swich off the main battery, unless the swich is on nothing in the car gets power. I don't see how anyone could steal the whole car, just the stuff in it in which case I mounted all boxes/amps very firmly.
Yea, In my GSR I had the whole stereo setup, all infinity and high end equipment. But now that I have the ITR, I have not put any stereo stuff in. I think it will only attract the thievs/stunnas. Now I just do simple mods, braces, lowered, intake...
nothing big to attract the pros
I would like to get the ITR car cover, but i heard that it was really expensive.

What deck did you get for 2k??
What deck did you get for 2k??
that was in the car originally. So as advice to many...talk with your agents and see if they offer riders ( amendments ) to the policy covering aftermarket add ons or refurbishments. Would rather be safe than sorry.

ok, a few tips ive learnt, tese are for car theft, not accesory theft
take off the coil wire before leaving the car overnight...
there is a/some fuses that will disable the car...
if you have a sensor like us swift guys(afm) unplug it so the car will start, then shut off...
(don't laugh)remove oner of the front wheels, pretty easy if you have a hydraulic jack, and a girl that doesnt mind greasy hands...
these are if you don't have alarm or any other device
peace
