Just changed the Spark Plugs & Wires for the first time. Some things i noticed and some questions.
2001 Type R - 25,160 Miles - New plugs NGKpfr6g-11 - Wires NGK Blue 9775.
Where do i start? In the manual, it says the plug gap should be - .04 in. or 1.1 mm. And according to this gapper i have, 1.1 mm is not close to equal to .04 in. The new plugs, when i checked the gap on them, were .9 mm all around. Aren't they supposed to come pregapped to 1.1mm? When i checked the old plugs, they were .95 mm or .04 in. So what is the right gap to set these at? And why would Honda give 2 numbers that aren't equal to each other? Does a couple tenths of a mm make a difference? I'm so confused...
Just something i noticed about the wires - they are each about 1 in. longer than the stock ones. Other than that, they fit great.
So to make a long story short, i just gapped the plugs at .04 in. or .95 mm. I hope this is correct. Any positive comments or input would be appreciated. Thanks

Anyone have any input on the spark plug gap issue?
.04 in = 1.016 mm
Maybe it's your gapper that has a defect.
I replaced my plugs at 25k and noticed a huge difference. Didn't replace the wires
Ah well,
Ah well,
how come on a b18c5 the gap is 1.1 and on a b18c1 it is 1.3?
but that 0.6 certainly ain't that much more..... mrmmm...?
