Default S2000 performance parts?

I'm not a S2000 owner, but a friend just bought one. I'm not in on the S2000 scene, so I don't know who makes the best bolt-ons and what combinations work the best. I know he's looking for i/h/e, but if you guys could help out with what companies are the best to go to i'd appreciate it.
Thanks

S2000's make about as much power as u are gonna get stock, w/o going with FI.

Tell your friend its not worth it to put I/H/E on his car. unless he is just doing it for looks. performance wise there have been very minimal power gains, and more times then none power loss. Dyno Proven!

Not true, Intake and exhaust wit a VAFC dyno tune can produce as much as 12 more horses. Of course that about $120 per hp but it can be done.

Thanks for all your responses guys. I kinda wanted to see a turbo setup on it, but he just wants to get closer to the 300hp marker. But i'm not sure how much he's willing to spend. I've also had to try and explain that the 240hp rating isn't what it's making at the wheels so 300 is gonna be fun to achieve.

He'll have to go FI to get 300 to the wheels.

Yea, and i don't think he wants to drop that much cash into it. But i've been checking out prices, even though things are very good quality they are still very expensive. By the time he would do all the bolt-ons, he could just get the comptech Scharger.

Exactly. Chit, a mugen header alone is over a G!

Yep, way to expensive for my blood. I mean hell, i've beatin a comptech SC S2000 in my coupe before. Not talking trash, it's just not a straight away car, and i think that's what he wants. I'd love to have it on a road course though. Oh well, i'm sure AEM and stuff like that will do fine for him.

He will have a hard time achieving 300 hp with bolt ons. I am running the Vortech SC and I am just touching the 300 mark at the wheels. With a VAFC I should be at about 313 according to what I have heard. However, I still pass smog though.

yea, that's why i tried to explain to him his car isn't actually making 240 to the wheels. I think the butt dyno will do fine for him with bolt-ons. I'm just not to sure how serious he wants to take it.

Or yank that ECU that is holding the car back and get something like an AEM EMS.

YUP. that and FI is the way to go if you dont have a problem with it. As for me id put a turbo on my lawnmower if it would help me mow faster.

Free plug for the Ultimate Racing link in my sig.

They just finished dyno-ing the custom turbo kit he's going to sell. Made 294 whp@7psi.

Check the site out below.

If you PM kidkutz regarding the kit he'll be glad to help you out.

You can also Click here for the other thread in here regarding the kit.

The s2ki.com "under the hood" thread has also gotten great feedback/interest in this kit.

DC header
AEM intake
Custom mandrel bent single 2.5in exhaust
DC Headers are dyno proven to gain ZERO power on the S2000.
Exhaust also provide no gains, and on an otherwise stock S2000 2.5" pipes will lose power.
The AEM works though.

An intake would bump you to an AutoX classification that your car probably isn't very competetive in.

agreed....im not the original topic starter. i was the one saying NOT to mod the car.

someone said that a VAFC will give great gains, mike said that the AEM EMS would be better. i was just curious on what kind of gains are shown with the AEM EMS.
