Does anyone have clever ideas how to keep the splash guard from falling down? LOOK
Last week I stopped mine falling down... for good. I took a razor blade/stanley knife... and hacked the thing off. Looks 100% better, and I'll never have to worry about it again. Heavy duty zip ties didn't work, the clips definatley didn't work... it seemed like I was getting the zip ties out twice a week.
Zipties... Cmon! I've contemplated the cutting idea. Zipties are so... so... not going to give me the confidence that this is going to fix the problem.
Thanks anywho

isnt that front one fairly important?
id try the zip tie idea first --

As for importance, I don't understand what Honda was intending a 1/8 inch piece of plastic would do...

this is a mystery to me. My Haynes manual shows two bolts going through that flap in the bottom (and yes there are holes in the flap). However it is supposed to bolt to the radiator support, and there are indeed holes in the radiator support, but there are no threads! At least on my car there isn't.
I've seen several Integras like this, but the one used in the Haynes manual does have the bolts in that location. I have used zipties for the past 1.5 years. I had to drill 2 small extra holes in the flap so the ziptie could loop around through it and the radiator support.

patrick, if you use 2 zipties zipped to one another you wouldnt have needed the extra hole....i did it and didnt need any extra holes....used the ones in the front of the radiator support visible from the front of the car underneath through those holes and into the holes that your haynes pictures....i looped em around and my front splashguard sits nice and flush......
i junked the big splashguard, that thing was useless.

The flap is part of the bumper (the thingy hanging down in the pic up top). I think if you were to cut it off there would be nothing securing the middle of the bumper cover near the bottom, and I think it would vibrate or move around or something. That is why I choose to keep the flap in place and keep it ziptied. The other splashguard (I assume the one that has the hole in the side to allow access to the crank pulley bolt) bolts on before the flap. The bolts for that other splashguard do not go through the lower flap on the bumper cover.
i had zip ties but the kept breaking so finally i just cut the bitch..it looks a lot better and i havent had any problems so far

I hacked mine off and haven't had any problems.
I used a couple of those 1-way push-in plastic things. They look like oversized black plastic screws, but the "threads" aren't spiral. They push in easily but don't come back out without lots of force. You can find them at any autoparts store for $1.50.
Better than zipties

do you not want to take it off? i hate those things IMO. i always remove that **** when i get a car.
thats exatly how people get hydrolock from their cai is taking that stuff off
My splash guard is secured to the car using self tapping screws and bolts that fit into two holes in the car.
