just contacted a guy willing to sell for 60$ he said that this is the real deal type r strut bar. He said you can tell because the mounting brackets on the strut are painted gunmetal... where as the knockoff is painted black.

Your best bet is to take off the brackets and look inside the bar...
It should look like this:

What's a 'skafia' anyways?
Fake type r front upper strut bars don't look much different at first glance.

The real one has a nice polish and a clear backed decal...the fake ones i've seen have a dull metal finish with visable lines from machining and the decal is usually 3D
It's not really polished, its more of a brushed aluminum look and the R on the Type R sticker has little flakes of metallic stuff in it exactly like the R found on the stickers of the car itself.
I have my flame suit on
I bought the knock one on ebay for $28, it looks hella better than the stock Si (JDM GSR) one and brightens the engine bay up.

From that picture of the fake one you can already tell, the bolts connecting the bracket to the bar are silver while on the real ITR bar they are black.
edit- Also the bolts of the real ITR bar are allen key bolts and I don't believe they are on the fake one.
