Default Intake Manifold Questions

1. Is there a difference between the D16y7 and d16y8 intake manifolds? If so what?
2. If i pick up d16y8 intake manifold is there anything precautions of extra modifications to be aware of? ie sensors etc..
3. i also have a 88-91 Throttle body. Should i try to bore it out or get an d16y8 TB?
I have a 88 CRX DX with a d16y7 converted to MPFI

the y7 has a downdraft style intake manifold while the y8 is a traditional style mpfi intake. the y8 is considered the best intake manifold for the d-series. it will just bolt on to the y7 head. try and find an intake manifold from an auto and u won't have to deal with the iac since u can just use your y7 t/b.

if the intake manifold has no plenum, the t/b is a downdraft style one not a side mounted one u have the y7 intake. u can use the si t/b with the y8 manifold.
