please tell my friend that a b18b is much better then a SOHC v.
if anyone can tell him some good reasons why a b18b is better then the SOHC vtech in his 93 EX. hes telling me it wont be worth it, but im rebuilding it and plan for turbo. so anyone who can tell him and help me out i appreciate it.

completely different engines, therefore-completely different worlds. It's like saying an Integra is better than a Civic. If it was up to me and had plenty of cash, I would opt for the B18 and turbo it. But, if money is questionable, boost the Z6 with good results.

They pretty much both have the same power output. 125 HP for the vtec compared to 142 for the B18.
B18 has more torque, gets out of curves faster and is more fun to drive in traffic or low speeds.
The Z6 revs a little bit faster and has of course vtec, which is always fun.
I would'nt say the B18 is MUCH better, but I would go for it over the Z6 (even though I didn't, my stupid self went for the Z6, but type-R is on the way, so it's all good now!).

can't really say it is MUCH better, cuz i don't think it is. it all depends on how much money you got and how far you plan to go

hey thanks, yea i never ment to put the D16z down but i just wanted to prove to him it was worth the swap for me since i have a DX and hes like well its not thjat amazing, it was just pissin me off, so i had to get ur opinions.

Ls motor is beter because it provides more low end torque. In one of the sport compact car editions there was a 92 hatch with an LS motor with turbo. It was mostly stock except that the pistons were sleeved and it was hitting 11.6 sec quarter mile. I was likw WTF!!!!!! So go with an A freakin LS motor.

I made the mistake of buying a d16z6 full swap when I could have gotten a b18b for the same price. I bought the z6 because I wanted Vtec. I regret the day I made that dumb choice.

b18b will destroy a sohc engine in every form....stock for stock in the same car!!!
Edit- B18 swaps are about the same as a Z6 swap if not cheaper, when looked for. But sell the tranny and get a B16 tranny....nice

i have seen b18b motors is EH's run STOCK at the track here is hot *** San Antonio....lowest ET i have seen STOCK was a 15.01
