So far I have been using 'eBay Specials!' and they're great. A friend of mine snapped his DC Sports short shifter. I know these two have nothing to do with Skunk2 or B&M, but when it comes to things like short shifters, I just go with the cheaper one

I have the B&M Pro Edge, not the less expensive model preceding this model. It has a billet steel base with an adjustable throw. To offset the increased leverage required to move the shifter I added a SKUNK2 **** due to it's increased mass. This aids in the transition between shifts. It shifts quite nicely.

I would go w/ skunk 2 because it sits in the stock position since it has that bend it it like the stock shifter does.

I like the skun2, use to have a obx type R short shifter,( the cheap one) and it broke on me while I was shifting. broke down to the ball joint. You do get what you pay for. Learned that the hard way.
most of "junk 2" products are garbage..but i have had their short shifter for about 15,000 miles now...and i've never regretted it. i never had or tried out the b&m..so i cant really comment on the difference..but i love the skunk2.

well I've had a $40 AutoZone short shifter for about 35K miles now, no problems. However I saw a Skunk2 shifter sitting in the box on the wall at a performance shop awhile back. I picked it up and looked it over and was VERY impressed with the quality of the finish and the included hardware. Just from holding it in my hand I can tell it's a nice piece. It's solid billet steel with a nice textured finish (fairly heavy). The Skunk2 **** is also VERY heavy (440 grams
). The difference obviously is the price over the B&M shifter. But I don't like the way the B&M shifter feels when shifting, nor do I like the straight shape, and I hear they are very prone to rattle. I would definitely go with Skunk2 over B&M.

Which B&M shifter do you have? The race version (36% throw reduction) or the 28% throw reduction?
I've heard good things about B&M. They have been around racing for a while and are known in the domestic scene as quality products.
I think your question may come down to a personal preference.

Yea, I'v had both and the Skunk2 is definatly a better shifter. The B&M placement wasn't very good, you would have to lean in to shifter gears, which really sucks in traffic. Heres a thread I made...

I'd also recommend getting the *** with it also, it makes the shifts a lot more fluid.

does the B&M shifter sit lower than stock?
