d16z6 question

Default d16z6 question

I have a d16z6 in a hatch. I am trying to swap a y8 intake manifold but my problem is that it is for an automatic, the sensor on the back of it by the throttle body will not work on it. I need to no if there is a way by it????????

Is your car automatic u said? i have a 1995 ex auto, same motor d16z6... i wonder how ur hitting such low times, i have an AEM CAI, and RS*R Indivia Cat-Back Exhaust... did you mess with your fuel? also, how much of a difference did the Vortech FPR make? is it set at a certain setting? also, is it a part that shows in the engine bay? because im trying to keep my stock looking cept for the AEM cai.. thanks.. also, im curious as to why ur looking to swap in a y8 intake?

My question was is it possible to put a y8 automatic intake manifold on my cx hatch that is a stick cause i am having trouble with the sensor on the back side by the throttle body on the back... any suggestions would help.....

how do you have a street/strip ACT clutch, if you have an automatic??? am i uninformed about something here?

I have heard about people putting the y8 intake manifold on there z6 and gaining horsepower, and i have an automatic ona and all i need to know is if i can put it on or not....

what sensor are u talking about? if you are talking about the iac than u might have a few problems since the y8 intake is from an auto it doesn't have the iac on the manifold its on the t/b. on the z6 i believe that its also on the manifold (not 100% sure on this). ask bone i'm sure he would definately know.

How does the intake manifold increase or affect CR in any way? Any gains would be due to flow characteristics.

There is no compression ratio increase... All it does is allow the engine to breathe better at high rpms due to the larger, shorter runners. (i think they're called runners) Anyways it won't be a night and day difference.

drill some holes and get out your tap and die set. then use a bunch of silicone (sp)

i know someone who ran into the same issue... works good
