sounds like a dumb question but I am rather annoyed with the level of radom clatter I am getting in the cockpit. I can hear what sounds like valve chatter or something. But I have adjusted valves not 500mi ago and changed the headgasket. Now this is a D16Z6 into a cx and I bolted the D16 Ex mani into the stock CX B pipe so I am getting more exhuast noise I know that and my intake howls like mad so its hard to hear above all the other racket including my Falken Ziex what the hell is going on. I did the whole screwdriver on the valve cover stethoscope bit and it didn't sound bad at all. Am I just paranoid that my **** is going to break or are there tell-tale warning signs I could be hearing?

 

i changed my head gasket and did a valve adjustment about 1000 miles ago and my car is still making that noise. i have a feeling it just the fuel injectors making the noise.

 

valve clatter? could be a bent valve or your exhaust hanger is loose at the bottom. are u using synthetic oil ? try a bottle of lucas oil additive it helps

Mine makes that sound too, only when its cold though, just the valves and stuff i think.

 

yea, could be the injectors too. i remember that on my friend's rsx, the injectors get so loud.
