Default Stolen car recovered, now time to fix everything.......

Got my car back, and I need to get to driving it again ASAP. The ignition has been torn out and the steering wheel locking mechanism has been broken (normal procedure for car thieves). Does this mean I have to replace the whole steering column, or can I just buy the ignition piece and the locking piece separate? Or what exactly do I need to buy since this type of **** happens all the time?
Thanks

oh, and btw....**** thieves

Pshhhhhh......

I went to go pick up a friend from his house. Didn't think to use the autolock...watched TV for about a half an hour, left to see no more car.

Fortunately, I got robbed by beginners. All they took were my seats, deck, and all my ****. You should've seen the look on my face when i popped the hood to see everything just the way I had left it.

If the steering column is fine, just replace the ignition switch and locking mechanism.

At least the mechanical is intact. If its just the seats and carpets, you can get it either online (ebay or classifieds) or just hit your local junk yard. You may even find your original stuff there!!! (just kidding)

Besides the ignition and steering column, was the interiors electrical intact? I've seen many yanked out and its a repair nightmare.

Glad to see you with your ride back.
Good Luck

Yeah pretty much everything is as i left it....just missing a whole grip of **** and the ignition and steering wheel lock. Luckily, i bought a set of Sparco seats and waitied to put them in after I got an alarm....so I already have an extra set of seats.

Acura wants 300.00 for ignition switch / locking ring thing.
There is a differance bewteen auto and 5 spd.
Most junk yards will not have them, they are super hard to find and if junk yard has it they want like 150.00 + for it.
Good luck.

Also anyone have an ignition switch for auto integra??

BIG sigh of relief, huh?? Somewhat of a chuckle? I think I'd probably laugh a bit in that situation. I'd be so glad that they were ameteurs and didn't get away with the drivetrain. After the stressful prospect of losing my car and all the thoughts of my gutted 'Teg, I'd be happy to see the drivetrain still intact.

Good luck getting her back running.

You have NO IDEA man. I was already looking for another 4 door GSR, or thinking about what car I would get. And also staying away from Hondas.

Thanks, though. I'm having no such luck so far since insurance is being gay.

You can use a push start button to replace the system, I had to do it on my Teg as the module in the column went bad, 49.99 beats 300.00

Yeah in my case i have to replace the lock cylinder, otherwise my car would be easier to steal the second time around.

They're calling my car a total loss even though it was just my interior stripped. Since OEM parts cost a **** load.
