Default How Much Improvement To Go With a Portflow ITR Head?

How much flow and/or horsepower diff. would there be, or gains with a Portflow prepped ITR head vs. OEM?

It depends on the particular engine setup and the quality of tuning. Similar to asking, "How much power will header X make over stock?"

it really depends on other aspects of your setup, ie: cams, i/h/e, intake manifold, TB, etc. and what type of portflow head you decide to go with.

Typically when a head is ported you gain a fair amount of midrange power, with a smaller, but still noticable, gain in the lower and upper rpm ranges. It is a very nice addition to any setup, it's something that I really would like to do, but it's so envasive, and I don't have an extra head sitting around for me to send off to get ported.

well, portflow has a standard prep. for ~900, obv. more power with more mods, but stand alone gain of 10 hp does not sound like its really worth it if no further mods to be done.

a better question might be portflow b16a head with valvetrain upgrade vs. OEM itr head? that is prob a better bang for the buck proposition

I have a b18c1 motor with CTR pistons, skunk manifold, 70mm TB, Jun III cams and valvetrain, jdm DC header, all tuned on hondata. Pretty much everything but a ported head. How much more power would I make. I'm having trouble justifying a 1000 port/polish/valvejob.

With those kinda mods I would expect significant gains. You'll get a lot better flow and I assume with the headwork you've already done wiht the cams and such, you should see some added power throughout your powerband.

I think Larry at Endyn wrote that the ITR head is NFG, and that you're better off to start with a B16 head.

Scott, who knows that head is a complicated subject...
