Looking at my tires, there is a lot more wear on the outside and inside edges of the tire than on the inside. The tire wear reminds me of underinflation, but I'm running 40 psi (max load 44 psi) and I like to take turns quickly. I have lowered the car about an inch, but that was very recently (within a month). Oh, just in case it matters, I have 215/45/17's. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks ^_^

I would think that camber (both positive and negative) would only affect one side of the tire, not both.

 

same here... only im runnin 215/45/16 falken azenis... i take some spirited turns @ the speed limit (if im going 45, i'll make a left turn at 45 ) but i do that only about once or twice a week...

would that result in the wearing on the outside? or do i just need an alignment?

 

Maybe bad camber causing the inside to wear, and hard cornering taking it's toll on the outside.

I tear up the outside edge of my tires pretty bad when autocrossing or at the track.,If I were to combine that with a camber problem causing the inside to wear, it sounds like what you have.

 

This is a bit off topic. I really want to get some Azenis Sports but they only come in 215/45 for 16inch rims... I am debating whether I should get 16x7 or 15x6.5 rims because of this. Do they rub at all on your tegs? How wide are your rims? and what is the offset of your rims? tia

 

i'd say it is normal wear if you take a lot of fast corners etc. althought you migt want to give it a lil more psi. it should be good to go.
