ITR Rear Sway Bar with BSQ Kit... Lower Tie bar still necessary?
Ive been dredging through the archives and there's been concerns about subframe tearing.
I wonder if its helpful to use a Rear Lower Tie bar in addition to the ITR RSB and BSQ kit.
Anyone with a similar upgrade kindly share their experience and comments.

Well the ITR's have both, but their purposes are different. Sway bars controls body roll through corners, while the tie bar helps reduce subframe flexing.

A tie bar would greatly compliment the sway bar. I recommend Benen.
I just sold my Benen bar.
It's an AWESOME piece, but when you are counting your pennies a Neuspeed will suffice

does the neuspeed require any extra modification? also if anyone knows does the comptech one require drilling?
I read an article on a honda website, can't remember it. Anyway the guy said that a lower tie bar is necessary. I talked to Bret about it, he said that guy was wrong.
A lower tie bar is not necessay with a sway bar.

Its not about neccessary or unneccessary... as always with tuning our kind of cars its about value. Yes, it will definately help. Everything does. But how much benefit do you get for your money? I've heard not a lot. Money might be better spent elsewhere. However, I do have a Neuspeed rear lower tie bar. I can't speak as to the benefit it provides in my case considering I had about 5 suspension things installed at once, sorry.

true, lower tie bar is unnecessary, and it is also true that 'bang for the buck' is highly valued. when i say the tie bar would compliment the sway bar well, it's all about improving your car's rear end, and helping to tighten up on the turns. just try driving with the swaybar until you get 'used to it' - that is when you don't even say 'wow' to yourself anymore at the vast improvement in handling. then try the tie bar and you will appreciate its utility. personally, i have the benen with the itr sway and it kicks ***.
forgot to add that with something as nice looking as the benen bar, it really adds something to the rear of the car aesthetically. the car looks more 'grounded,' almost eliminating the need for any sort of rear lip or valence treatment.
Could you get an ITR lower tie bar to fit on a GS-R?
I have the Beaks kit/R swaybar with Neuspeed lower tie bar. Beaks sells longer bolts and spacers that allow the Neuspeed bar to mount without any difficulty. Did it make a difference. Well, in theory everything makes a difference but I made two changes at a time (swaybar and lower tie bar) so I can't say what mod did what. The car does handle better now.
Theoretically the Comptech tie bar should be the most effective since it mimics the Type R stock reinforcement in the way it attaches to subframe. It's really hard to feel any difference after adding any sort of chassis reinforcement. It is just comforting to know that your car is a little more rigid

Actually the Comptech sway/tie combo should be the most effective since the tie bar is a single solid piece of machined metal, and it provides the most chassis reinforcement and solid mounting points for the swaybar brackets out of any of the normally used methods (BSQ kit/Beaks kit/Comptech sway-tie combo).

If you look at this pic of the ITR subframe, it seems to be shaped differently than the GSR's. There's no flat mounting spot on the GSR as seen here:

A brand new ITR sway bar w/ all hardware will should run you under $90, +$20 for BSQ=$110, and a HUGE difference in handling. A rear lower tie bar, you're looking at at least that much, and for big name bars up to 2x that amount. For moneys sake, I would not bother with the tie bar unless you have extra cash just floating around

from the looks of it, can you mount the benen bar with the comptech with the ITR rear sway bar!?!?!?
