well, most of the older guys here know my car so ill let them chime in anytime. i have a 93 4door H22. Problem is that the car keeps stalling when it idles. ill be at a red light, or shifting into neutral, and the car wil just stall. i cant figure it out. i checked the fuel pressure guage, and it stays steady at 44psi. the A/F guage shows that the AF misture is in the middle(i know the AF guage is not completely accurate). i can figure out why the car keeps stalling when its at idle. the car starts just fine after it stalls. any ideas??

 

clutch related problem?

also, if your going in lets say 3rd about 40mph and you put her into neutral it stalls?

bad distributer maybe? i kno when mine was bad, the engine would sound like it sqeeling or somethin, and when at a stop light, my car would stall.

 

alternator maybe aswell?

 

clutch is fine. the ACT has been great. already replaced the alternator a bit back. i just changed the main relay. i was thinking the distributor, but i dont really want to buy a new one and replace it. any other ideas? the car will idle fine sometimes, and somteimes it bounces up and down like there is a vacuum leak(i checked, all hoses are pulgged up) and then the car stalls. she old.

on a side note, my car is covered in mud from going to tahoe and looks like crap. i laugh when ricers come up and rev on me with their girlfriends in their cars. when my piece of **** looking car leaves them at the light i get a good chuckle.

 

Adjusted the idle? Mine had to be adjusted after the turbo install.

personally, i think its the distributor cuz the things u r experiancing sounds like wat happened when my distributor was bad.

off topic, scrubachu, u live in the sacto area? ic u said ur car is dirty from tahoe. i live on hwy 50...just outiside sacto.

 

im in OC, CA. i drove my baby cross country from FL to orange county, CA. then went to Tahoe to snowboard, then back to OC, then to Vegas for New Years, then back to OC, then to Big Bear for more sonowboarding, and now back in OC. hehe. over 6000 miles in 3 weeks

yeah, i kept her cause the bitch on ebay backed out. oh well. shes lasted me cross country, so ill just keep her till she dies.
