2.1 was in the 90-91 prelude Si 140-145 hp...cant remember the tq numbers...the 2.1 motor is a more powerful motor than the 2.0 (88-89 prelude) but has more problems than the 2.0 from what i gather.

The motor in the pic is a B21A

more info on the motor......friend was to buy this car as her daily driver but we both never heard of a honda 2.1 liter.......

there's just a huge difference between a 91 and a 92 prelude, it was the entire model change.

I'm not to big on the 3rd gen preludes, from what I hear the B20 and B21 motors are plagued with problems most notoriously oil burning.

 

Correct....but the b21 was worse...but yes thats why a lot of us 3rd gen people just swap in a JDM B20A or if you are lucky..H22

Not much aftermarket support....Gude makes a head package...crower makes cams, rods i think too. Theres a turbo kit available. Weapon cRap intake is available.

If this is goin to be a daily driver...only thing i can say is have it checked out (compression test) overall 3rd gens are great cars..Just find one in good shape of course and have it checked out top to bottom.

i've had my 88 Si 4WS since 98 and other than the crap motor (that i got rid of) theres nothing wrong with my car...just kinda ugly..(thats my fault though )

Great car with lots of potential...if you do the research.
