How high do you rev (stock type s)?
to rev higher you need to first do your head. i.e. better vlaves, valve springs, and retainers. Next you will need to go to work on the bottom end. get your pistons, rods, and balnce everything to your crank. oh and dont forget your pinston rings and bearings and it wouldnt hurt to get some arp rod studs..
I've done no work to my internals on the engine and I seem to be able to go past redline - about 7800 RPM. Does anyone else notice this or could my limiter be broken?
Andrew
thanks for the info.
so i should just stay with my stock rev limit??
wat about if i get it chipped and go a bit higher, how high do you guys recommend?

Doesnt matter you stop making power after like 7k so I wouldnt recommend revving any higher on stock internals.. Just try to make more usuable power within the whole RPM band and you will do fine..

When I was on the dyno, my car would easily rev to an indicated 7900 on the factory tach, but would only go to 7500-7600 on the dyno tach
Oh yea, look at the SMSP header graphs, power does not fall off

Just to be clear didnt say that power falls off, but using the same dyno graph as an example hp levels off after 7k and torque actual declines after that as well. And this is on a slightly modified lude...
