5th gen lude, stock tires 205-55-16, what should be ideal for aftermarket? 205-40-17?
is this size 205-40-17 small for prelude 5th gen? if i used them, am i gonna lost any velocity of the wheel. I compare them to stock tires and they seem smaller than stock tire llike 1" . anyway, what size of tires 17" would be the same diameter of the stock tires 205-55-16. please help

look there
last time I checked my 5th gen has 205/50/16..55's are to tall, they would higher your gear ratio..slowing acceleration.
I have 215/40/17, which are a bit wider and taller than 205/40/17....205/40/17's would give you less traction from a launch but shorter gearing (barely)

You should get some fat *** 235/40/17 tires for the Lude...I'm sure they will fit (if not somebody correct me), and your speedo will still be under 1mph different according to that calculator dsludefosho posted a link to.
it also depends how much ur lowered
if ur lowered more than 2" then u'll need 205/40 17, i know they are smaller than the stock diamter but this will aleviate some rubbing problems, if u do get some
if not, 215/40 17 are the ideal size
