Default AEM is Looking for a Car for R&D

I have been assigned to develope our new V2 cold air intake for the 94+ GSR. We are looking for somone to let us use their vehicle for about 2 to 3 weeks. During this time, the vehicle is totally covered under our insurance policy. In exchange, the owner will receive a free intake system after it has gone through production.
Here are the requirements:
-vehicle must be located in the LA and surrounding area.
-must be a manual trans
-must be internally stock engine, exhaust work is okay.

We cannot use a hybrid car such as a civic or something.
Please email me at my anonymous address if you are iterested or have questions: zqpm1056@yahoo.com
thanks!

Yeah, this looks REAL legit. New user, "anonymous" email address, "gimme your car" message.

You guys are more skeptical than any other forum I have eposted to in the past for vehicles, but then again GSR's are nice cars and I would be skeptical too.
I really dont like doing this, but since you guys pushed, you can email me at:
asuchy@aempower.com for qustions or call me at 310-484-2322 x.255 and we can talk more about arranging something.
Or if you want to call Kirk, you can do that, but he is a busy guy and would want to waste his time.
The V2 is not available for the integras yet, its not even designed yet. The off-color part numbers in our catalog and our website indicate it is coming soon.
please contact me if you are interested.
thanks

Agreed! If this is legit, their going to take the car up to the redline about a 100 times. That seems like it would put the owner back more than $200.

I would hope that aem would put more that 2-3 weeks of R&D for a $200 + intake!

Alright guys...

My post wasnt knocking AEM's way of finding a test vehicle, it was to ensure that this wasnt some moron wasting your time.

Aaron, given your information, it seems legit. Again, Im sure you understand WHY we take these precautions...anyone can sign up and say theyre from Company A doing demos, and after 50 people email with no response, what do those 50 people think of Company A? And in reality, it was some loser with too much time, and Company A misses out on 50 potential customers without a clue.

Go ahead and call him guys....lend them a hand if you have the spare time. Im sure you'll be compensated well (an intake for 2 weeks downtime is a bit stingy man! ) AEM is a good group of guys who value their customers and peers highly, in my experience. I wouldnt hesitate to help them out if I was in the area.

Good luck with the design, and thanks for your patience

If they gave out a loaner car for the 2 weeks, say an NSX, I would think about leaving my 97 GSR for 2 weeks.

There is no way I'll give up my GSR for 2 weeks and let other people beat on it. If you give me $10000, I might think about it. I don't quite like the idea of letting other people touch my car.

if you guys can give me the intake and the AEM Big Brake Upgrade I'll consider it.

Dont you guys have it designed for the ITR already?

Alright guys...if you dont dig it, you dont dig it. We dont need your "expert" opinions on intakes or if you think theyre a worthwhile modification. If you dont have something positive to add to the thread, dont post or Ill just delete it and deduct points.

If you want to ask the guy if he'll toss in a big brake upgrade or whatever, give him a call. Ask him personally. They may do it, or maybe they'll laugh. You never know until you call.

You guys are retarded. we're not talking about ferarris here. If i needed one and had a GSr I would in a heartbeat for free parts.
I have a type R and I would do it if i neededanything for it.
I jut dont see the big deal , they arent gonna beat it any more thna we beat our own cars, except, yor getting something in return for it this time . and it covered under their insurance .
I see it as a deff win situation

Hello. My name is Greg Nakano and I am the R&D manager for AEM. We created this account to be free to ask people if they are willing to help us out in situations where we can't find the vehicle we are searching for. Honda-Tech is a well respected forum with a ton of members that are usually willing to help out.

When the vehicle is loaned to us there is a full vehicle check in done to the vehicle. This would include a full walk around the vehicle and inside the vehicle. If anything is damaged while the vehicle is in our possession we will fix it. Along with the interior and exterior being checked we also check the performance of the engine before and after the vehicle has been used. Through numerous tests such as compression and leak down to the vehicle as well as others. If the engine does not check out before we give it back it will be replaced. We don't ask to borrow cars and than give them back laughing in your face if something happens. We are a very well known and respected company and the last thing we need is to borrow someone's vehicle and trash it. Now does that sound right to you.

There is compensation also when a vehicle is leant to us. Usually you will receive the product we used your vehicle to develop for free. A rental vehicle is also provided if needed. We have been also known to make other deals with product if you do not need a rental vehicle and for how long we use the vehicle. If you are interested please give me a call at (310) 484-2322 X 302 or e-mail me at gnakano@aempower.com

The vehicle we are looking for is a 94-01 Acura Integra GSR.
Motor internals must be stock.
Stock intake must be available.

Thanks,
Greg
