Default Head Gasket, Compr Ratio, Hp

I've been searching for info on using a thinner head gasket to + the compression ratio and possibly get some hp. From what the Compression Ratio Calculator says, if I use a thinner head gasket I can get almost up to 10.5:1 (97 b18c1). Does anyone know what kind of hp that compr ratio would produce? I have heard that using a thinner hg also retards your cam timing and iginition timing. Seems like a good thing to avoid detonation. Can anyone confirm this theory?

Yep whenever you move your cams closer to or farther from your crank you're changing your timing.

thats going to vary motor to motor depending on your setup. just going to have to dyno it to find out.
