On a 4th Gen Prelude, how do you remove the entire shift cable and shift plate/rod assembly? I removed the 4 12mm bolts that hold down the shift plate in the shift console area and that lifts up now, but I can't seem to get the entire shift cable and assembly out. I assume there are more brakets/bolts holding it in somewhere. Does anyone know how to remove this? Perhaps there are more bolts underneath the undercarriage heatshield?? Thanks in advance

 

did you disconnect the cables from the tranny?

 

Yes, the motor and tranny have been removed. The shift cables and shift plate/rod are all that is left to be removed.

I am pretty sure there is a plate that holds them connected to the firewall... check that out...
