i got something like that on my 89 si from ebay...its real loud too, but its the nice deep throaty hum, not the annoying weed wacker sound...but sometimes it gets annoying because its loud, especially on the highway with high rpms....

If youre going for an OE fit, Id recommend either the Borla or the Flowmaster, both have a really good sound, are well built, and wont hurt the wallet too much. If you want the offset fit then go with a 5 Zigen rear section, they usually run a little over 250 retail, but you can find a pretty good number of them for a lot less if you look around on ebay. Good luck!
Increase you piping.
I got a pretty big muffler
( Top Left One)
and an OBX Test Pipe.
It's still quite. Only a little buzzzz............Almost stock
Maybe the swap will make it louder.

id like to see someone actually make his own rice muffler by using an actual coffee can w/the writing and all on it. if i had the skills and knowledge and tools and time id rig someting up for the heck of it. If you do it or got a pick please post!

I have that n1 style muffler on my beater... 88 std hatch. ran 2.5" pipe from the stock collector and it's QUIET. Guess that 70 flywheel hp just doesn't move enough air, lol. Anyways.... it's actually a pretty well manufactured muffler. The cannister welds are pretty clean and for $79 or so with shipping, I'd buy another one if I ever needed to replace it.

Loud, deep, not ricey, and sporty tone. I'll put a sound link up sometime.[Modified by slvrcivic97, 11:52 PM 1/7/2003]
