I've been thinking about this topic for the last few weeks. Now, what would be the best bang-for-the-buck thing to do? Pull the engine and build it up to whatever I want, i.e. new crank, bearings, pistons, conecting rods, sleeves, head components (valve guides, seals), and valve job. Or, should I go to some place like importbuilders.com and get a built engine from them and just drop it into the car? I would want to keep the stock compression (if possible) and displacement (or maybe a 2.0 liter conversion), and have it be ready for forced induction, but still create good power without a turbo/supercharger. What are your opinions? Thanks.
I'd go with one of IB's crate motors from what I heard they motor can handle some ****. Their the ones that dynoed my car with the hondata and put 300hp to the wheels.
i have never dealt w/ import builders but at the same time i have never heard anybody say anthing bad about them . always see positive stuff being said about them .
