Default Need Prelude Advice

My friend has a 97 Red Prelude , it's an Auto.
She was thinking about getting a ghey bodykit, but I convinced her to go the performance/handling route..
I do drive a 92 Civic HB and a 99 Tacoma, and my brother has a 97 Accord with a H22A4 sitting on the floor beside it, literally.

I suggested she do the following..

Neuspeed Sport Springs
Tokico Illumina Shocks
Skunk2 Front and Rear Strut Bars
I didn't say anything like sway bars because she wouldn't need them, she doesn't race and she doesn't drive the car that hard...is that a good suspension set-up for you guys??

also, for performance I suggested the following..
AEM CAI
AEM Cam Gears
AEM Fuel Filter
AEM Fuel PR
AEM Fuel Rail
UR Pulleys
and 2.5" Cat-back exhaust

please give opinions and comments, remember I'm trying to help her...
also...will 17x8 wheels fit?

got pics? =D

hehehe j/k, seriously though you have a nice list there but the only thing is it's an auto.

EDIT: you should also throw an Apexi VAFC in there too.

I do have a picture, but I don't want to post..gotta have some respect.

Also, sorry to mention, the car came with a Fields VTEC Controller...I believe she said it kicks in at 3800, not sure so don't quote me.

It also has some pathetic knock-off sturt bar, and short air intake.

AHAHAHA. Are you Indian?? RotiEatter?? LOL

If so, is she Indian?? If she is..I wanna see pics.

Now back to the question. What does she seem like she is leaning towards, engine or suspension?? If it was me I would go with suspension. An auto car is an auto car. Might as well inscrease it's handling since the performance gains from motor mods aren't as effective. Just my opinion.

Now on with the pics.

well since its an auto and she is not gonna be racing it..why shouldnt she get a body kit. If thats what she likes. Most girls are interested in looks anyways. I think that might be more practical and a better investment since she doesnt drive hard. My opinion
peace

sorry to be the first horny guy to find this but hell yeah
and your list of performance mods should be altered slightly

keep:
AEM CAI
AEM Cam Gears
UR Pulleys
and 2.5" Cat-back exhaust

Toss:
AEM Fuel Filter
AEM Fuel PR
AEM Fuel Rail

now you may say they help but not till you put out around 700hp so leave them off for now, but the keepers should help her with a little extra but i don't agree to the nitrous in the last list, she's a girl remember

Yeah, I don't agree with the Nitrous either...
As for the Fuel upgrades, I just thought they should be taken into consideration so that she can compensate for the extra parts/power...it can't hurt her.

oh yeah, her AIM name is MizLayD627.

I would have to say shes a very beautiful young woman. Anyways, in my opinion I think she should go with a nice factory or clean stock look. If she had a bodykit and fart can etc etc I think ricers would harass her. Intake and some new tires and maybe new suspension would be cool . And if she has the cash to spend, definetly look into some nitrous hahahaha

I agree about the clean look. I was thinking something like an Apexi N1 or Apexi WS, not even sure if they make them for Preludes. I just personally like those, but the actual choice is up to her of course.

yup they do make them for the lude... have a WS myself... love it.... yeah I would get an intake, a clean exhaust, and a street suspension setup (ie kgxs/ground control) If she wants a body kit then let her go for it =D my little sis drives a lude too, so natually when I grew out of my kit she put it on (she loves it)

The car makes changes for the parts your adding and even with the list you have given she won't need to be adding fuel. More likely she will need to be taking fuel out. I would suggest doing the OBDII work arroung to keep the ecu from learning a way around the engine mods you will be making. Learn about it here->[url=http://www.ntpog.org/mods/fifth-afc/ecu.shtml]http://www.ntpog.org/mods/fifth-afc/ecu.shtml</a> Prelude's are bad about running rich all the time and this helps. The field's controler setting can actually hurt performance if not set at the correct rpm. CAm gears, a fuel pressure regulator, and a vtec controler work best when tuned. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=372203 Basicly if your not tuning your hurting. Im not going to suggest anything about suspension because thats not my department.

My sugestion:
AEM CAI
AEM Pullies, good bang for the buck.
Greddy EVO, SP Sound good (deep) and no drone at high speed.
Forget headers, except for the looks and money is better spent elsewhere.

Suspension: Ok, my only suggestion...
Neuspeed Front strut bar , Cheap

Have fun, and good luck with the tranny. I hope she bought and extended powertrain warrantee.

As for suspension, as far as Iknow, girls don't like driving fast in turns, keep it simple with looks bro...

also, for performance
AEM CAI
AEM Cam Gears I wouldnt do cuz Cam Gears help get minimal power with lots of mods.
AEM Fuel Filter
AEM Fuel PR
AEM Fuel Rail
UR Pulleys ( Iwouldnt get UR pulleys Id stay AEM, cuz it messes with the harmonic dampener, which ***** up reliability somehow dont ask me, ive heard a lot of it)
and 2.5" Cat-back exhaust

Isay **** speed its auto, shes a girl, just hook up a AEM CAI and body kit and call it a day.
