Really....same as the H22 and H23...

I have F20B rods in my hands, from the Accord SiR-T from Japan it's essentially a destroked H22a...

Funny thing is the BE diameter is only 45mm, which is even smaller than the b-series 48mm.

I'm trying to figure out what honda was trying to do with this design? I guess less weight and an easier to spin motor, but I woner whay such a drastic change?

They are pretty cool, the rods are 145mm, for a 1.65 RS/R...midway between an s2000 and a type-r but 2.1L on my car..

? I just said it was 1.65

S2000 = 1.82
Type-R/H22a = 1.58

Good?

Wait back this truck up I think I was measuring wrong...

The Rod BE diamter should be without the bearings in right?

If so it's 48mm, 45mm inside the bearings...

which is it? 48mm bore with a 23.75mm width makes them GS-R sized...dammmmn! That makes me feel better knowing it uses B18 rod bearings..

The size is measured without the bearings.

Hoo boy get this:

The complete F20B rod specs are with common engine matches:

Length: 145mm (5.709") - no engines
BE Bore: 48mm (1.809") - D16, B16A, B17A, B18A, B18B, B18C, B20
BE width: 23.75mm (0.935") - B16A, B17A, B18A, B18B, B20, F22, H22, H23
Pin Bore: 22mm (0.866") - F22, H22A, H23A
Pin Width: 23.875mm (0.940") - F22, H22A, H23A

If you read the rod at the top is like an H22a, and at the bottom it's like a B16a....analysis?

Point #1: Joel gets to use some B16A rod bearings!
Point #2: 1.65 Rod/Stroke!
Point #3: 2.1L of displacement with room to bore out to 2.2 again!

So this should be very efficient at making power no? What do you think I can rev that to?

With that rr you should make hella power down low and still go to 7k. Head porting may be in order so it can breathe up top.

Well a stock h22 head goes to 7800 stock fuel cut...the head/TB/IM is ported, plus the crank will destroke....I should be able to rev to 8500 easy I would think....as long as the cams make power up there...
