turbo oil feed lines
hey wassup i was at pepboys today getting jb weld for my bov and found a poss. application for the oil feed lines.
its a 4 ft long rubber hose used for oil coolers but for transmissions...seems right that it would withstand heat and pressure right? what do u guys think? oh well i bought one anyways...only 8 bucks...see how it works

and how are you gonna hook it up to the source of oil ? it needs to be presurized source. I am sorry dude, that will not work, unless you're running an small inline pump to pump it out to the turbo...
buy an oil feed line kit, hook it up to the back of the block at the location of the stock oil pressure sender and be done with it....there's no sense in saving a few bucks but having a chance of popping the hose off and ruin your turbo by running with no oil at 50K rpms and losing oil pressure on your motor

Considering that for about $26 you can get SS braided Speed-Flex from amstreetrod, it's not such a great deal. I'd pay the extra $17 for Peace of Mind.
You can get SS braided hose for about that much if you don't mind brass fittings. You gotta pay a bit more for SS fittings, and you gotta pay extra for each additional foot you want. The part number 4468K301 from mcmaster.com, and it starts at less than ten bux each. Theres other options on that same page too, if you are willing to spend more. 4468K401 is probably the best cheap option at $12. Its on page 190 if you've got the hard copy catalog.
actually im using a tee at the oil pressure sender and used a barbed fitting ....u guys still think it wont work? darnit guys know how to burst someones bubble but thanks for the feed back
I have spoken to people who ran barbed fittings before with no problems. Don't worry, it will probably work fine. Just make sure you use some quality hose clamps, and clamp them down well. Not too hard though or you might strip the "teeth" off of them.
Be careful with the tee also. People have posted here that the brass tee broke off from the weight placed on them along with engine vibration and whatever else.

BTW, those pre made hoses with the JIC fittings are "AN" fittings.
They just call them by a different name for some reason. I have the same ones you got except I got brass. I would never trust a hose I made myself.
