Default OEM brake pads, where to put the lube?

directly on the back of the pad inbetween the shims? or on top of the shims?

Between the backing plate and shim, and between the shims if there are more than one.

Look at the old pads and look where the wear marks are from the pistons. Lube that spot especially.

Just a tip: I also use OE shims and lube with performance brake pads too (hi-po pads don't usually come with shims)... keeps 'em quiet.

thnx, im using OE AV6 pads for now i threw buncha lube on the pad back and inbetween the shims...


on a special note i had my *** handed to me by the slide hammer

dave what pads are you using? hp+? and can you just get the shims from the dealer? or use old shims or what.

I swap between OEM Nissin pads for street and Carbotech Panther Plus for track. I just reuse the old shims until I get a new set of stock pads with more shims. The shims looks like crap after just one use but I've reused them several times with lots of that gunk and it keeps any brake pad quiet.
