Is there something wrong if "maint reqd" blinks or is this just a warning indicator?
Whenever I start my car, "maint required" lights up near my gauges. It blinks three times and then stops. The acura dealer said that this is ok and that I should bring in for routine maintanence when the light stays solid.
What do you guys think? The car drives perfect and the oil is changed regularly.

What year is your car? If it's an older model you can look under the drivers side steering colum for a blue reset button. Just turn off your car find the button & hold it in for about 2 seconds while turning the key. The warning light should be off then. I'd only do this if you have an older Intrgra. The light is there for a reason.
it comes on every 8k mile sor so , just hold in the button under the column and shut it off. thats just an excuse for honda to rape you for more money for a check up ,
warning light.
reach under the driver side dash, you'll feel a little box on the right side... there's a button facing the floor. turn your car to the on position so it starts to beep, and hit/hold the button. problem solved.

its just a mileage driven reminder for you to do your maintenances.. it comes on at 7,500 intervals so that you don't forget your 7.5K, 15K, 22.5K, 30K, etc..... maintenances.... its their way of "reminding" you to schedule an appointment w/ the dealer to get the maintenances done but you can do them yourself if your mechanically inclined and reset the light yourself by reaching up under the dash by the pedal area and holding the button

the dealer typically charges about:
$75 - "Minor" 7.5K maintenance
$150 - "intermediate" 15K interval maintenance
$350 - "major" 30K interval maintenances
they reset the maintenance req'd light w/ these services...
the "minor" is basically an oil change w/ a bunch of visual inspections and resetting the light.... I haven't taken my car to the dealer since it was new but those are the prices that I see from the dealer flyers/coupons that they send to me... most of what your paying is labor..
