Default Can't decide between getting a GSR swap or an ITR swap, please help.

I am now about to purchase a swap. I want to go all motor and my main application of the car will be autox. I have a 92 Si and I am considering getting a GSR motor or an ITR motor. I want to upgrade whatever motor I get with high comp. pistons, new sleeves, ti springs & retainers, p&p head, cams, cam gears, etc, etc. Would it make more sense to get the GSR engine over the ITR motor because it is cheaper and the ITR motor already comes with some of the items I want to upgrade anyway so money would be wasted? I was also considering a H22a swap but I think it would be a little too heavy for autox. Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly aprreciated, thanks.

ITR

Already comes with better gearing, an LSD, and a more solid crank (less vibration)...just those three would be hell on your wallet to upgrade with a GS-R.

Very true in the basic upgrade sense.

If one day you decide to get really serious the C5 block is stronger, as is the crank.....just ask Erick Aguilar.....10 sec all motor The head is worth some decent money and when you need a better head people will pay a very good price for a complete ITR head (which will save you cash on your competition head/valvetrain) Just a thought.

Love my R motor

It's a no-brainer. GS-R swaps are $3200. ITR swaps are free.

ITR no doubt. If you still want to upgrade on the ITR then at least you can sell the ITR parts. The only way I can see you going GSR over the ITR is with the money you saved you can maybe try and add a supercharger to it. But you'll still need to throw about another 1,000 for that.

don't get the prelude if you plan to autox...it's not made for a civic chassis. get the type R...the tranny alone is $$$.

if you plan on rebuilding it i would just get the gsr. Type R would definitly be the choice if you were going to keep it stock. Just wont have the same gearing as a type R would

All motor = B18C5
Forced Induction = JDM GSR B18C with OEM LSD and turbo cams

I hope you searched before you asked this question, because this inquiry comes up about twice a week. Oh wait, you didn't or you wouldn't have asked
