Any Good Headunit Recommendations??
Hello All...
I'm in the market for a decent CD Player Headunit and I was wondering if I could get some good recommendations from the experts.
Here are my minimum requirements:
plays CD-R/RW
Front/Rear RCA preout
Subwoofer RCA Preout
My Main concern is the preout situation. I can find the ones with F/R with no problem. I'd like to find one with the Sub-out for future expansion.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Also...I don't really want to spend over $200 if possible.

I'm not really worried about subwoofer control since my plan (right now anyway) is to grab one of those new Bazooka tubes with the remote level controller. For right now, non-fading is fine. Unless the price difference is minimal...then I might as well get the one with level control.
Thanks
Thanks

Anybody else?
What about the Sony CDX-CA700x? Anybody have anything to say about this one? It doesn't have a subwoofer preout, but I like the rest of its features. And, its pretty inexpensive too.
Thanks again for the input.
Opps, my bad, what about this one : http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pi...,21414,00.html it has RCA Preouts (x2 pair, Front & Rear or Sub) (2V)

You will have less problems with the Kenwood in the long run.
Definitely go play with the buttons on the Pioneer. Pioneer has their own way of setting up their controls, and I personally hate them. It is confusing the way they have the bass/treble, balance/fader controls set up. It is the only stereo I have to read the manual to set the clock on. But, you may like them, so go try it out. Pioneer is much better quality than $ony also.
Well...after much, much research and looking around everywhere, i finally bought the Kenwood KDC-5019. I got it for 149.98 SHIPPED!! I couldn't pass that deal up. I like the unit and I really like Kenwood's products....I'm sure it'll live up to my expectations.
Thanks again to everybody that replied to this thread and helped me out.
I'll rejuvinate this thread once I get it in and hear how it sounds.

It retails for $400, but you can find them for cheaper. E-bay has them all day for about $280. Happy Hunting
bestbuy and circuit city have the DEH-P4400. It is a very good headunit for the price. Pioneers setup is quirky, but once you are done setting it up, you are golden.
If you have the cash tho, get the alpine. Their **** is top notch.

I've gotta agree. A GREAT deck. Plays CD/RW AND MP3. I'd highly reccomend saving up the extra cash it would take to buy this jewel. Alpine is second to none in sound quality IMO.

Maybe you could check out the 7892 or 7893.
Thanks for the suggestions guys
I appreciate them!
I do like Alpine a lot, but unfortunately, they're a little too much right now. Plus, I'm trying to save up for an exhaust, so I'm tryin' to pinch pennies until they squeal!
I ended up buying the kenwood 5019 for $150 shipped off of Ebay. It had everything I was lookig for and I like Kenwood as well. It should be here today! I can't wait to install it tonight when I get home.
