Those of you with ITR knock-off shift knobs
I just got mine last Fri, and I just tried to put it on. But it only screws down a few turns and then it won't go anymore. Did you guys have to saw some of the shifter off?

The reason that I ask is because if you have an aftermarket short shifter and you had the stock plastic shift ****... and now the ITR shift **** won't go on the shifter, then your problem is the threading on your short shifter. The reason you didn't notice before with the oem **** is because the threading is made out of plastic and you could screw it - and eventually re-thread the the **** unknowingly. That's actually what skunk2 told me when I purchased their short shifter...
Mine has started to turn more than it should..

If you're using the nut that came with it throw it away and just screw the **** on. If you arent using the nut then i don't know what to tell you.
try tearing little bits of paper, wadding them up, and then stuffing them into the top of the threads on the ****. this will let you adjust how high/low you need it, and still be able to screw it down plenty tight. not exactly the fanciest fix, but it works darn well.
This is off topic..but I had my ITR knock-off installed.
