gear type or clutch type LSD???
what do you guys think? it's going in a B16A hydro tranny. hatch will be used mostly for road racing. which one is more reliable of the 2...shopping around for a diff right now while the tranny is out still...thanks in advance...
id go with the clutch type because i know more about them. not quite sure how the gear type works maybe someone can tell me? Personally ive never even heard of a gear type.
The gear, or "Helical" is best because it doesn't need to be rebuilt. It only provide the limited-slip effect only when under high torque application. The pinion gears that connect each output side of the differential carrier are forced into the walls of the carrier under high-torque (because the gears are angle-cut). This locks the differential and prevents once side from spinning more than the other.
