like the topic says i have a 97 lx motor im trying to put it into my 95 lx is it possible...is there anything i need to modify or watch out for...thanks

first of all, why? did u blow your 95 f22a? It can be done, but the 97 is OBD2 and the 95 is OBD1

 

so i need the ecu also

 

y do u wanna swap them...aren't they the same specs? wat r u gonna gain out of this?

 

i blew up the other motor i had a 97 just sitting here wondering if i could just drop it in

 

what has to be changed to put it in? wire harness ecu ect..?

hey just switch the blocks

period.. keep all sensors and parts of the 95 just switch the head and bottom end

yes ecu does have to be changed 95 obd1, 97 obd2

well today thats what i did and i started the motor but it feels like the motor is lazy and a couple of the clinders arent firing does anybody know what the problem could be? thanks for all the help with getting me threw this the end is almost near

finally found the reason this was my first engine swap i learned alot doing it...the reason was i had a bad injector so i changed the fuel injection and bam no more lazy motor...thanks for the help honda-tech

 

swapping engines in just one day how about doing that for me,huh? (just kdding)

If it is that easy, why dont people just do it if they need to? My accord has 207k miles - it is running good so far and the body is just fine but I have been thinking if the engine goes, i might put on a new engine?? It does not seem to be that hard, huh? All I need to find an engine and rent a hoist? Right? How much would a new engine cost? Used?

well we already had a motor so we sold it to our customer for $400 dollars. good deal only 50k miles on her. acutally it took 2 days took the motor out in a day and put it back in the next day. its not hard if you know what your doing and if you have honda-tech.com up all day long
