there are three engines in the 3rd gen. the s model has a 2.0 carbureted sohc motor. the si has two options. 88-90 has a 2.0 dohc mpfi motor, and 90-91 has the option of having a 2.1 dohc mpfi motor.

There are *three* motors? I know the 1958cc B20A5 (stock in the 88/99
Si with 81mm bore), and the 90/91 had the B20A3 (83mm bore) which was
a 2058cc engine. What's the B21?

actually 90-91 came with both B20 and B21, i believe.

you have your numbers a little mixed up. the b20a3 is the sohc carbureted 2.0 s model. the b20a5 is the 2.0 dohc fuel injected si model and the b21a1 is the 2.1 dohc fi si model. both b20's have the 81mm bore and the b21 has the 83mm bore. the 2.1 is only available in 90-91.
