the fuel pump suddenly got loud at half a tank. a usual soft hum is now a very loud hum. the fuel pressure is a 50 psi as it was before the problem occured. the setup is:
-bosch intank fuel pump
-larger aluminum fuel lines
- -6 sized inline fuel filter like this one:
-aem fuel rail
-SARD fpr
what would cause this? is the fuel filter too small for a daily driver and would it have clogged after 4000 miles of driving?

How much does the inine fuel filter cost? if it is cheap buy another and replace it, and see if it still makes the loud noise. but if the fuel pressure is the same, and not jumping around, i dont think it is the fuel filter. that is the only advice i have maybe somebody else can give you better advice.
