cuz my check engine light is on and i'm wondering if its the vtec not being hooked up. also when i pu a paperclip in those connector things the srs light started to blink does that mean its the airbags?
Some advice Hook the V tec up and whatever you did to the srs (hope u didnt fry the unit) find someone with a VAG tetster and reset both lights , then see if any or both lights come back on. If they do, then run a dtc on it, and see what it says. Hope this helps
that blinking is actually the code that your ECU is throwing. i think that a long blink is 10, and the shorter ones are 1.
and then you add up everything and it will tell you whats wrong
i could be wrong with the math though

The SRS light is where it's supposed to be blinking. you didn't "burn anything out"...Bull is a complete n3wb and you shouldn't listen to a word he says.
before you test again, take the negative battery cable off your battery for about ten minutes. reconnect it and check the codes (paperclip in the jumper). Long blinks are indeed 10 and short ones are 1. If more than one code is present there will be a slight pause between the last of the short blinks for one code and the first long blink (or short blink) of the next. Watch it for three or four cycles to make sure you're diagnosing the correct problem(s).
and yes, if you have VTEC (not V tec, bull) and it is malfunctioning it will probably set off a CEL.

cuz the ecu is a p28 and the vtec is hooked up to a switch, could that be setting off the check engine light?
