and why would you take out the carpet and backseats and leave the spare tire & jack thats just as heavy if not more.

Damn that is low in the back. Like the other guy said. Why make the trunk look horrible by taking out the carpeting(maybe saving 1 pound), but leaving the spare and jack and all that?
