Default ATTN: everyone with AEM Cold air intake

Everyone with an AEM CAI, could you please do me a huge favor,
would you measure the length of the piping from end to end, just run a string along the length of the pipe.

also what car and model is it on?

Thank you in advance.

To accurately measure I would have to pull off my bottom splash gaurd and pull off the filter. I don't think anyone is going to do this for you accurately since you are obviously doing this to make them for profit according to your Cross-posting of this topic.

but now that you bring up the idea of making them for profit, thats not that bad of an idea, hmmm...

If you want to figure out how they tune them, you will also need the pipe diameter. A lot of times they are forced into the length of the pipe due to engine layout, bettery placement, etc. Then they try different pipe diameters on the dyno til they get the best increase.

the only problem with pipe diameter is the ability to supply the air, you want the pipe as small as possible while being able to supply the engine with the amount of air that it needs, the smaller the pipe, the faster the flow of the fluid, ever try drinking with two straws, you suck the same as you do with one straw but the water flow is slower,

what you need is a wide opening that goes into a smaller opening to get the venturi effect.
