Default Bad Idle?

OK the other day my car was running fine and then when I got off of the freeway it had a like sputter to it when your sitting at a light with it in gear or even in park it has a weird like hesitation to it. It only happens when either sitting at a light in gear or when idling it pretty much goes away after I get going but even when you first take off it has the hesistation also. I changed my cap, rotor, and wires about 6 months ago and just changed my plugs today cause they were pretty bad so I thought they were bad and well it still happens. Any suggestions?Oh and its the DX motor in my 91 CRX. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah mine happens when its in or out of gear just worse when in gear though cause of the higher load on the engine. Also when Im first taking off it has the hesitation also. Its almost like it kind of has a miss but it doesnt cause everything else is fine. Any and all info welcome!! I dont want to replace like everything on this motor since I am going be swapping it out soon but I need it to run good in the main time until I get another car to drive while Im swapping it.

what exactly is the ideal idle? mine USUALLY idles at 500...and dips down sometimes when it sputters and "shoots" back...

This would be my best guess too. Although I couldnt remember if it was the EGR or PCV that caused that?

My car doesnt have an EGR system on it. Well for only a couple of bucks to change it I might as well but I changed it about 6 months ago along with everything else (cap, rotor, wires, and O2 sensor). But I might have an extra laying around might as well throw it in and see what happens.

No check engine light? Maybe the ignitor in the distributor is on it's way out... it won't throw a code.

I thought about timing also...but it was running fine and now its not. Correct me if im wrong, but wont it drive crappy all the time if it skipped a tooth somehow?

-Jake, who pretty much figures old engines are gonna run crappy

Hey, I was talking to Aaron on the way back and we came to the conclusion that it's going to be something really simple. Check all the connections and clean them up. Maybe water in gas or dirty injectors. BTW he is considering the z-24. TTYL

Maybe do you have a bad ground somewhere? Your fuel pump is worked by a ground kinda. The relay turns it on and off using a ground, sorry I don't know which one. Ignitor also a possibility as mentioned.

Yeah I was going to clean them all up tomorrow and dump in a bottle of injector cleaner and see if any of that helps. As for the gas I thought about that too cause it started to happen after I filled up at a gas and it was towards the end of that tank of gas but since then I have put in a few bottles of heat and also gas from a different station. Oh and that would be mint if he bought the Z24
