Default Some questions for my upcomming hybrid!! :)

Ok, so i'm getting another EG9 (i just crashed my last one a week ago ) and i will get a Spoon B18C5 complete balanced engine (bought directly to spoon) and there are some things that i wanted to ask you guys:

1 - Does the B16A alternator, distributor and starter fit right in the B18C ??
my main doubt is about the distributor
2 - Can i just plug the ITR LSD in my B16A gearbox???
3 - The engine comes without intake manifold and throtlebody.. i'm thinking of the JUN Air chamber (or JHP ITR one) and ericks 70mm TB, what you think???
4 - in ECU matter, i think i'll keep my P30 and get a chip with JUN prog (just because i will install JUN cams in near future)!!!

the reason that lead me asking you this is that here in Portugal is extremelly hard to find crashed ITR's to get some parts..and since i will have 2 complete B16A engines and all its components..you know... :D

well this was about engine.....

suspension:
- i'll get a new H&R coilovers (like the ones i had in my crashed EG9)

brakes:
- i was thinking of a Brian's (from FastBrakes) 11.75" kit with willwood 4 piston calipers

exhaust line:
- i will keep my mugen like muffler for street use and get a Vision N1 for trackdays
- a B-pipe of 60mm internally speaking
- i will keep my 62mm test pipe
- headers..well... here i have a problem... i wanted a Vision-R 4-1 but they are expensive to import. i'll get a friend's DCSports JDM 4-1 for a while...

here are my thoughts... i welcome sugestions!! :D:D

Spoon B18C5 = waste of money. It's a balanced Type-R motor that's missing an intake manifold and throttle body; two necessary items that more than detract from any bonus you're getting from the balancing. Get a regular Type-R motor and put some cams, gears, CAI, decent header and a 4.9 final drive in it and you'll have enough cash left over to do the suspension professionally. Those mods will allow you to walk all over a spoon engine and keep you way under its ticket price.

How did you crash your other hatch?

ontop of the spoon engine you need a T4 turbo with NOS, and a MoTec system exhaust. otherwise just build up a B20 VTEC with brand new parts from honda and you will smote everything.

Explain to me why a Spoon engine is "shitty". I don't see how a balanced ITR motor can be worse than the stock unit,..other than the price... which isn't really that bad when you're considering it's not much more money than a brand new motor from Acura.

also check his location, I'm not sure on the Lisbon area but do you think there are a lot of honda tuners around that area. IF he has the cash to spend on a spoon prepped motor, more power to you.

Well.... about the spoon engine...i considered it fair priced because it will cost me about $5000 (new... 0 kms)shipped and installed on my EG...

about the NAWWWWSS and turbos....not for me... i'm in the completly NA business...

$5000 is what a short block would cost at any Honda dealer here in Portugal....so...not bad deal after all...

and yes
the engine comes bare...i'll need to buy a alternator, distributor and intake manifold and TB....or... :D i heard today thats a crashed ITR for about $5000... whats a more appealling deal to me.

about photos of my crashed EG9 (4 doors with B16A2, was selled here in europe)
you can view it here ....but be gentel on the keyboard afterwards... :D

Now that is how you kill a car!

Glad that you are still alive.
Seriously something like that would make me want to get a Yugo and go 10 below the speed limit.
